Kaweah Health Neurosciences Center
Keeps Patients With Severe Head Injuries Close to Home
The new program allows people to get care at Kaweah Health Medical Center rather than being transported nearly an hour or more away to be treated for serious traumatic head injuries as well as a variety of neurosurgical conditions including traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, brain hemorrhages and spinal abnormalities (degenerative disc disease, spinal tumors, spine trauma). Additionally, people can now undergo planned surgeries such as brain tumor surgery or spinal surgery at the medical center.

Patient Story - Geraldine Williams
Geraldine Williams had surgery in her skull twice - process that required the skilled intervention of neurosurgeons, Keith Quattrocchi, M.D. and Joseph Chen, M.D. from Kaweah Health’s Neurosciences Center, and brought together our entrire healthcare team for the same goal: Geraldine's recovery. From the health care heroes in the Emergency Department and ICU; to the Environmental Services and Home Health aides; to the therapists in our Rehabilitation Hospital, everyone worked together to ensure her recovery was a success.
