Visitor Guidelines

Visitor screening has changed as of Friday, September 23, 2022*

We are committed to protecting the safety of our patients, staff, physicians, medical residents and the public while maintaining quality care here at Kaweah Health.

Prior to visiting, all visitors must:

  • Check in with a screener and receive a visitor badge.

  • Wear a mask (minimum surgical mask) at all times, maintain physical distancing, practice hand hygiene, and stay in the patient’s room while visiting.

  • Minors 13 years old and older will follow the same visiting guidelines and will be allowed when accompanied by an adult. Minors 16 years old and older are allowed to visit unaccompanied.

*Visitor screening processes have changed as of Friday, September 23, 2022. Illness screening and proof of vaccination, testing, recent + result are no longer required at the Medical Center.


Routine Patient Visitation (COVID-19 and Non-COVID-19)
  • Two (2) visitors at the bedside at a time 9 AM to 9 PM. Additional visitors to wait in main lobbies or unit waiting areas.
  • Exceptions:
    • ICU/ICCU visitor hours: 10 AM - 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.

Visitation Guidelines by Department

  • Emergency Department - Two (2) visitors allowed once patient has been taken to a room. One (1) visitor in the lobby as space allows.

  • Surgery - One (1) visitor with the patient during pre-op and post-op. Two (2) visitors allowed in the waiting room during the procedure.

  • Cath Lab - Two (2) visitors allowed with the patient during pre-op, post-op, and in the waiting room during the procedure.

  • Endoscopy - Two (2) visitors allowed with the patient during pre-op, post-op, and in the waiting room during the procedure.

  • NICU & Mother Baby - Two (2) visitors per day allowed. One (1) allowed overnight.

  • Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery - Two (2) visitors per day allowed. Two (2) allowed overnight.


Other Locations:
  • Rehabilitation hospital – Two (2) visitors at the bedside at a time 8 AM to 8 PM. Additional visitors to wait in main lobbies or unit waiting areas. Visitors for COVID-19 patients must contact Nurse to obtain proper PPE prior to entering room.

    • N95, face shield, gown and gloves.

  • Transitional Care Services and Sub Acute – Two (2) visitors at the bedside at a time 8 AM to 8 PM. Additional visitors to wait in main lobbies or unit waiting areas. Visitors for COVID-19 patients must contact Nurse to obtain proper PPE prior to entering room.

    • N95, face shield, gown and gloves.
