All patients safe after report of fire at Kaweah Health

Patients at our Subacute and Transitional Care Units are back in their rooms and safe today, with no injuries, after reports of smoke and in two patient rooms.

Patients and staff in the immediate area were safely evacuated for approximately 30 minutes today as the Visalia Fire Department responded to the incident at 1:17 p.m. and found an electrical outlet failure. The air, fire, and sprinkler systems have been found safe for use outside and adjacent to the two affected patient rooms. However, the two rooms will remain closed until the necessary repairs can be made. We thank the Visalia Fire Department, Visalia Police Department, and EMS and our team for responding quickly while keeping our patients safe.
