What to know before you visit Kaweah Health
January 30, 2026
When you come to Kaweah Health to support a loved one, your visit matters. To keep everyone safe—patients, families, and staff—Kaweah Health has set clear visitor guidelines that make visiting easier, safer, and more comfortable for all. Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about visits.
Where should I enter?
Visitors may check in through the Acequia Wing lobby or the Mineral King entrance during regular visiting hours. All visitors should stop at a screening station to receive a badge.
Masks are encouraged for anyone with symptoms, allergies, or a weakened immune system, and may be required if a patient is in isolation.
What time can I visit?
Most patients may have 2 visitors at the bedside at a time from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Extra visitors are welcome to wait in designated lobbies or waiting areas. Kaweah Health encourages a quiet environment at all times, so please keep noise to a minimum while in patient rooms and hallways. Eating is limited to public dining areas unless a patient gives permission to eat in their room.
One overnight visitor (age 18 or older) is allowed. Overnight guests must check in before doors lock at 9 p.m., and there is no re-entry after that time.
Special situations—such as end-of-life care, major surgery, or changes in a patient’s condition—may allow for exceptions.
Are there different rules for different areas?
Visitor allowances vary by area. For example, the Emergency Department permits 2 visitors in treatment rooms (1 if the patient is in a hallway bed), while Labor and Delivery allows 2 visitors per stay, both of whom may stay overnight. Pediatrics and NICU each allow a guardian plus 1 visitor, and both may stay overnight.
Seasonal restrictions, such as during flu season, may limit children under 13 from visiting certain units.
