- Women's Health
Kaweah Health provides a full range of OB‑GYN and women’s health services through its hospital in Visalia and affiliated clinics in the area, including an Exeter women’s health clinic. Their services include routine gynecologic care, prenatal care and delivery, contraception, and surgical gynecology.
Core OB‑GYN services
Kaweah Health’s women’s health program lists the following key services:
Prenatal care and delivery, including care through their Family Birthing Center.
- Birth control, including IUD insertion and other contraceptive options.
- Well‑woman exams (routine pelvic exams, Pap tests, breast exams).
- Pre‑pregnancy (preconception) counseling.
- STD screening and treatment.
- Pregnancy testing and various in‑office procedures for common gynecologic issues.
Kaweah Health also offers gynecologic surgeries such as hysterectomy and laparoscopy for conditions like fibroids, abnormal bleeding, or pelvic pain.
Hospital‑based maternity care
Kaweah Health delivers more than 4,500 babies a year and supports both low‑ and high‑risk pregnancies at its hospital in Visalia. They staff an OB laborist in the hospital 24/7 to respond to emergencies and to care for patients who arrive in labor without an established prenatal provider. A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is available for newborns who need specialized care.
Kaweah partners with Valley Children’s Hospital for maternal‑fetal medicine (high‑risk pregnancy consultations), pediatric hospitalists for routine newborn care, and neonatologists for very sick or premature infants so families can often stay in the community instead of being transferred far away.
