Our physician team includes physiatry and family medicine physicians. A physiatrist is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This physician team will lead the treatment team to deliver you with an individualized and progressive rehabilitation to ensure your medical and physical needs are addressed.
Our nursing team will help you restore wellness and promote independence. They will educate and assist you with medication management and self-care and help reinforce techniques learned in therapy sessions. Our RNs provide 24/7 care for patients recovering from a debilitating medical event that has affected their mobility and function.
Our physical therapy team will help you regain mobility and function. They will evaluate your needs and work with you to create a treatment plan to improve your strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and coordination to maximize your independence with mobility to assist you in safely discharging home.
Our occupational therapy team will help you regain your function with activities of daily living. They will evaluate your needs and work with you to create a treatment plan to enable you to manage your day-to-day tasks and activities, such as dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and household activities based on your needs to help you safely get back home.
Our speech therapy team will work with you to improve your communication, language, memory and problem-solving skills, as well as swallowing problems. They will evaluate your needs and work with you to create a treatment plan to address any of these needs to improve your independence.
Our recreational therapists help you relearn or modify skills needed to enable you to engage in a wide range of leisure activities, such as arts and crafts, gardening and sports. In addition, they may assist you with a community re-entry training activity to increase your self-confidence and ability to return to community activities.
Our case managers and care coordinators will serve as your advocate to promote the participation of you and your family on an ongoing basis in the discussion and decision-making process as it relates to your goals and discharge. They will coordinate your discharge needs including your continued medical, rehabilitation, and equipment, as well as provide resources to support your safe discharge.
Our social workers are here to help you, and your family members deal with many aspects of your condition, including social, financial, and emotional. They will act as your advocate for your needs and provide strong support to help you adjust to your new disability.
Our chaplain services are available to each patient at the Kaweah Health Rehabilitation Hospital if you desire their service. They are highly dedicated to providing spiritual counseling and support through your rehabilitation process.
Our dieticians will provide a nutritional plan to support your health and help regain your strength. They will provide you and your family with the education needed to manage many medical diagnoses including high blood pressure and diabetes.
