Welcome Yesenia Calderon Leon, MD

Kaweah Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Yesenia Calderon Leon, family medicine, to its medical staff.

Dr. Calderon Leon was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, but she immigrated with her family later in her childhood and grew up in the Central Valley. She is a proud daughter of farmworkers and is proud to continue serving the community where she grew up.

She completed her medical education at Charles R. Drew Medical Education Program/David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and residency training at Kaweah Health Family Medicine. Upon graduation in 2025, she joined the program as core faculty.

Dr. Calderon Leon values the opportunity to mentor residents and medical students, and she is committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative learning environment. She sees her role as a physician and educator as a way to give back to the community while inspiring the next generation of family medicine physicians.

Dr. Calderon Leon practices full-spectrum family medicine, balancing inpatient and outpatient clinical care. Her professional interests include women’s health, community outreach, and mentoring underrepresented students in medicine. She is passionate about advancing health equity and providing high-quality care to underserved populations in the Central Valley.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Calderon Leon enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She loves exploring local food spots and watching movies.
