About this event
Support group for individuals and their family members who are having difficulty with language and communication with others.
The Aphasia Support Group is intended to promote and enhance communication skills within a community setting and to connect others with similar experiences.
- Promote communication with family and community
- Assist family members and other communication partners in understanding their loved one's frustrations, strengths, and limitations
- Establish a sense of community with others who are experiencing a similar condition
- Learn about adaptive skills, new research, technology, and resources
Open to survivors of a stroke, individuals with fronto-temporal dementia, or those with primary progressive aphasia, and/or apraxia.
- Provides opportunities for learning
- Strengthens dignity and self-worth
- Provides support to renew hope
