Kaweah Health Expands Services with Café Renovation, New Clinic, and Mental Health Wing

From an expanded Ambrosia Café for your coffee to an update on how the physician lounge remodel is going, here is an update on the latest facilities projects.

Ambrosia Café

Renovation of the Ambrosia Café concluded in mid-October and the popular dining location reopened on Oct. 28.

Along with the seating area being revamped to have a more coffeehouse feel, the kitchen is now equipped to create an expanded menu along with all your favorite Starbucks drinks. Ambrosia is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily for beverage service and the grill is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The menu is available on Kaweah Compass.

Akers Clinic

Construction is complete at the Kaweah Health Akers Clinic. The project is now pending final licensing and inspection. We anticipate that it will open in January.

This facility will

  • Provide clinical space for our graduating physician residents
  • Offer opportunities for new physicians joining our community
  • Create partnership and expansion options for local physicians

Upcoming Projects

Renovation of the Physician Lounge is in the design and permitting process. Once plans are finalized and a permit is obtained, construction can begin. We plan to begin this project in early 2026.

Expansion of the Mental Health Hospital will break ground in 2026, adding a much-needed youth and adolescent wing. Once this project is completed in 2027, it will add 22 beds, and we will be able to admit children as young as 12. Funding for this construction comes from a $10 million state grant.

Our 202 Willow building is undergoing transformation to optimize space utilization. A key improvement includes consolidating two Lab Draw Patient Service Centers into a single, convenient location across from our retail pharmacy. We expect construction of this project to begin in December.
