Meet Marc Mertz
Marc Mertz leads strategic vision at Kaweah Health with a perspective that balances big-picture thinking with human connection. As Chief Strategy Officer, he oversees strategic planning, business development, marketing, communications, patient experience, community engagement, the charity foundation, the project management and consulting office, facilities management, the surgery service line, and physician recruitment and relations. But he keeps patients at the center of everything.
"The most inspiring part of my job is when I hear stories about the fantastic care we provide to patients," Marc said. "That's what it's all about."
Prior to joining Kaweah Health in 2018, Marc was vice president and physician services practice leader at GE Healthcare (formerly The Camden Group) in El Segundo, California. He also spent time as president of Health Check Incorporated in Mexico Beach, Florida, and vice president of The Horizon Group in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Marc's consulting background in mergers and acquisitions, physician services growth, and system-wide strategy gives him the expertise to navigate complex healthcare challenges. He's built critical partnerships at Kaweah Health with leading institutions including Cleveland Clinic and Valley Children's Hospital, bringing world-class resources to the community.
Marc serves as the liaison for Kaweah Health to national, state, and local government officials. He also oversees the community engagement groups and patient experience team, which serve as sounding boards for the community.
Beyond his executive role, Marc stays deeply connected to the community as immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Visalia and board member for the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, the Mineral King Preservation Society, and Riata Ranch International.
At 10 years old, Marc wanted to be an airline pilot and a farmer, hoping to fly the plane home to the farm at the end of the week. While his career took a different path, that blend of ambition and family values still shapes how he leads today.
