Outpatient Therapy

The Physical Therapy services offered by Therapy Specialists—a division of Kaweah Health—revolve around one thing - our patients. They're the heart of everything we do. We see patients who've experienced everything from arthritis to automobile accidents and we're committed to working around the clock to craft unique and individualized physical therapy plans for them. Additionally, we ask our patients to join us every step of the way as we help them successfully complete their physical therapy journey.

Areas of Specialization

Physical Therapy – Our physical therapy program focuses on improving the physical health of our patients after an injury, surgery or as a treatment for chronic disease.

Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation – Occupational therapy focuses on patients with mental, physical or emotional conditions to help them regain and retain daily living skills and occupational skills.

Sports Therapy (Orthopedic Therapist/Rehabilitation) – Our orthopedic therapists work with athletes and non-athletes alike to help rehabilitate muscle and joint problems, provide post-surgical physical therapy, offer joint replacement rehabilitation and neck and back treatments.

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ) Therapy/Treatment – If you’ve been diagnosed with TMJ, our therapists will work with you to rehabilitate and treat your pain as well as the cause of the joint issues.

Prosthetic Rehabilitation – Whether you’ve had a full or partial amputation and have been fitted with a prosthetic, our rehabilitation team will work with you to condition and strengthen your surrounding muscles to enable you to become active, prevent flexion contractures and reduce any phantom limb pain.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) Treatment/Therapy/Rehabilitation – Carpel Tunnel Syndrome can be extremely painful during day-to-day tasks, so our physical therapists will work with you to condition and reduce the pain in your hand and wrist. We will also provide proper splinting and bracing needed to get you back to 100%.

Hand Rehabilitation – Whether you’ve suffered a stroke, surgery or are recovering from an injury to your hand, our physical and occupational therapists will develop a rehabilitation plan to regain your strength and use of your hand(s).

Balancing Help – Balance is affected through a number of ways, either due to injury or a chronic disease. Our physical therapists will work with you to regain your balance through appropriate exercises and strength training.

Stroke Rehabilitation – If you’ve been affected by a stroke, our therapy team will work with you to increase your motor skills, help with your mobility and help increase your range of motion. We’ll also work through any communication disorders or psychological issues related to your stroke.

Cardio/pulmonary Rehab – If you’ve been diagnosed with heart or lung disease, including asthma, emphasyma, COPD, angina, heart attack or other condition, our therapists will help with medication management, exercise therapy, counseling and support and training.

Physical Rehabilitation for Children – Whether your child has suffered an injury, has chronic pain, scoliosis, cancer or cerebral palsy, our therapist with work on breathing therapy, developmental and recreational therapy, fitting and training on custom orthotics or prosthetics and burn or wound care.

Neurological rehabilitation – Our therapists specialize in neurological rehabilitation for those recovering from trauma, dealing with disease or those with disorders of the nervous system. Neurological rehab at Kaweah Health can help to improve neurological function, reduce your symptoms and increase your overall health.

Spinal and Brain injury rehabilitation – If you have received an injury to your spinal cord or brain, our therapists will work with you to improved your communication, mobility, hand-eye coordination and help to increase your mobility, including wheelchair training.

Personal Training – Our rehabilitation department offers personal training for those who need help losing weight, need specialized attention regaining strength after an injury or need a specialized diet plan.

Pilates

Integrated Fitness

Integrated Fitness is a program offered by Therapy Specialists, a division of Kaweah Health. We offer Pilates and personal training, which are a vital and healthy way to keep and gain strength and flexibility. For more information, click HERE.
