Chronic Dialysis
Department Name: Visalia Dialysis / Chronic DialysisThe chronic dialysis facility provides dialysis treatments for those patients who have end stage renal disease. We also provide dialysis for rehab patients who have their own dialysis facility they go to and need “transient” dialysis which is short stay treatments. We also admit acute patients from the hospital in need of dialysis after discharge.

The most rewarding feeling is that you get to know the patient(s), interact with their families, and try to provide resolution to the problems they are having with the long term effects of this continual treatment

- Average patient ratio: 6:1

- Total number of beds in the unit: 4 beds for patients unable to tolerate sitting in a chair
- Average census, census range: 160 patients

- Weekend requirements: 3 weekends per 6 week schedule
