VISALIA – Tulare County residents are invited to attend a free, Nov. 11 virtual wellness seminar to learn how to prevent and treat vascular disease, any abnormal condition of the blood vessels (arteries and veins) that can cause disability and death.

Vascular disease is prevalent in Tulare County, which has one of the highest diabetic populations in the state and uses more insulin per capita in Tulare County than anywhere in the U.S. Diabetes is linked to several vascular diseases. Some of the most common vascular diseases are stroke, peripheral artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and carotid artery disease.

The virtual wellness seminar will take place from 6-7 p.m. on Kaweah Health's Facebook and Instagram page and will feature the following vascular surgeons: Dr. David Nye and Dr. Abdulrahman Hamdi, of South Valley Vascular.

Anyone who has a question on what causes vascular disease, information on its surgical procedures, or the state-of-the-art technology that vascular surgeons use at Kaweah Health to perform these procedures, can ask them on Kaweah Health's Facebook and Instagram pages or submit them in advance by e-mail to questions@kaweahhealth.org.
